In a quaint little coffee shop in Kansas City on a sunny, fall, breezy Saturday morning, I sat with Ashley and her mom and quietly listened and took notes while they told me of Ashley’s vision for her wedding. Sage, burgundy, navy, lace, Converse shoes, historical buildings including the Historical Hall of Waters, downtown, beautiful brick –Ashley and I both were drawn to the brick…
The wedding day was warm and sunny. A few clouds in the sky with a few sprinkles after the ceremony created the perfect overcast for pictures that followed.
This wedding brought lots of laughter and fun! I truly enjoyed the calm, fun-loving side of this couple and their wedding party. From the moment I stepped into the room to take pictures of the wedding party I knew my time at this wedding would be a great one!
Singing and dancing to a variety of pop music from the early 2000s to current, the bride and the bridesmaids laughed and told jokes as they sipped their “special punch” provided by mom, and donned their gowns and fixed their hair and makeup.
The groom and the groomsmen, on the other hand, were across the street at the local bar that had a micro-brewery in the back room. They each enjoyed a shot of homebrewed beer in the brewery room.
The fun continued after a sweet and simple ceremony. When it was time to enjoy the Taco Bar, the bride and groom put on bibs created especially for the occasion that read, “HalesYes, we are messy!”
The bride and groom wore matching Converse shoes as they danced the night away including a little dancing in the streets of downtown Excelsior Springs, MO.
